WIP12 Podcast Ramah Taskforce Episode - With Yours Truly as One of the Guests!

WIP12 Podcast Ramah Taskforce Episode - With Yours Truly as One of the Guests! Hello everyone! I'm excited that I can finally share the news with you all; Raymond (AKA Cabaray ) was kind enough to have me on the WIP12 Infinity Podcast to talk about RTF with Jonathon (AKA ivoryronin ) and boy did we have some things to talk about! Have a listen yourself, and feel free ask any questions that the episode might raise by for example commenting below! I have to preface the discussion we had by stating that this time around is was deliberately sitting in my " very competitive player chair " and thus my bar for what's great and what's not was higher than usual - but this doesn't mean that I'd changed my mind on many units per se, it's just that I was taking a different approach from my usual outlook for this one! Also don't take my criticisms on some of the units and Fireteams too seriously either ; after recording the episode I felt my creative juices ...

In Search of Wisdom - My RTF List Building Philosophy Part 1 (the Basics) (Update Pending)

In Search of Wisdom - My RTF List Building Philosophy Part 1 (the Basics) (Update Pending) In this series I reflect on the game of Infinity, as well the place of Ramah Taskforce in it.  Through my time writing the Good Guys Wear Orange , many people have asked for my takes on list building with RTF. This is a subject I have been very hesitant to cover, as few things are as personal (and as hard to quantify) as (good) list building in Infinity . I however, do have a personal philosophy when it comes to building my lists, and I feel I'm ready to start covering it piece by piece in a series of articles. However... Readers of this piece must keep in mind that there are no right (and only few truly wrong) ways of building Infinity lists , and what follows is my very personal and subjective take on how I like to build my lists for myself - so take everything with a gigantic grain of salt!    As I'm going split this subject into a series of articles, I can't cover everything h...

Officer Training School - RTF Fireteams 101

OFFICER TRAINING SCHOOL - RTF Fireteams 101 (OUT OF DATE) In this series I'll be focusing on subjects that are specially geared towards new players starting with Ramah Taskforce.   One of the advantages (some would say the main advantage) of playing a Sectorial Army in Infinity is the fact that they can form a multitude of Fireteams - groups of soldiers that work as one, thanks to their special training and tactical doctrine. If you're starting with Ramah Taskforce (and especially if you're new to the game), you've probably come here for the supersoldiers and the elite operatives, not so much for the diverse Fireteams that can combine a wide variety of different units! All this hastle with what can go where, and how, can feel intimidating, but fear not! This article is supposed to help ease you into the RTF Fireteams! So, How Do Fireteams Play? If (and when) you decide to play with Fireteams, you should head out to the Infinity N4 Rules Annex that describes their ru...

The Man, the Myth, the Legend - Tarik Mansuri in RTF

THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND - Tarik Mansuri in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   If there is a military unit positioned in the front and centre of a Ramah Taskforce recruitment poster, it's the legendary Khawarijs . If there's a Khawarij positioned in the front and centre of the unit, it's Tarik Mansuri . This near mythical Red Turban is the runihura supersoldier program's most lauded success, but also the pinnacle that could never be reproduced - if it could have been, I'm pretty sure the map of the Human Sphere would look a tad different! So let's delve into the Khawarij Amir! Super Supersoldier And you thought non-character supersoldiers had busy statlines? Oh boy, how wrong you were... Tarik Mansuri is the fastest bioenhanced warrior in RTF, with his 6-4 MOV and the Super-Jump ability. Where it's sometimes dif...

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - Wild Bill and Carmen Johns & Bâtard in RTF

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY - Wild Bill and Carmen Johns & Bâtard in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   (Disclaimer! I've made the decision to use a Dynamo Biker and a spare Antipode model to reprisent Carmen & Bâtard - I've made this decision purely on stylistic grounds, and I still find the actual models amazing, if less professional looking, than the ones I've chosen to use!)   While most of Ramah Taskforce is made up of dedicated Haqqislamite career soldiers, there are also more eccentric characters mixed into the force. In this article, I'm going to take a look at the Faction's only Warband option in the mercenary biker Carmen Johns and her companion Antipode Bâtard , as well as the legendary Aristeia! gunslinger (and a Janissary wannabe), Wild Bill In This World, There Are Two Kinds of People... Wild Bill...
