The People of the Dunes - Tuaregs in RTF

THE PEOPLE OF THE DUNES - Tuaregs in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   When I'm playing Ramah Taskforce and I want something killed, I choose one (or more) of the fantastic supersoldiers for the task, but when the ITS Mission being played requires me to accomplish an Ojective, my first pick is almost always the Murabid Tuareg . While at face value seeming rather bland, these Badawi warriors have served in my battles with great distinction, and I often find it hard to build a list without one! Becoming Part of the Desert The stats on the Murabid Tuareg pretty closely mirror those of the standard Ghulams , with two key distinctions. The first is the high PH of 12, which makes the Tuareg surprisingly good at Dodging , and also allows them to risk Infiltrating on the opponent's side of the board with a 45% chance of success. The other key s...

A Wise Contradiction - Khawarijs in RTF

A WISE CONTRADICTION - Khawarijs in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   If one had to pick the Faction defining unit of Ramah Taskforce - the Kamau to our Varuna if you will - it would surely be the Khawarij . To me, the Red Turbans epitomize RTF on the gaming table (as they do in the backstory!): they are flavourful, aggressive, tenacious and can achieve non-traditional threat vectors, yet they are also expensive, somewhat fragile, and generally unfocused as a unit. The models are beautiful and the fluff is enthralling, but are these religous warriors actually worth taking in your lists? The First of the Supersoldiers In the Infinity backstory the Khawarijs are the first unit of supersoldiers to have been created and used by the nation of Haqqislam. The newer units like the Mukhtar , the Namurr , and the Nahab are more or less based on the adv...

A Shield Held High - Hakims in RTF

A SHIELD HELD HIGH - Hakims in RTF   In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   Out of all the branches of the Haqqislamite armed forces, Ramah Taskforce is the one with the most humanistic calling - they are after all the ones who are tasked with diving into the most terrible of situations to rescue those in need of saving. No unit in the Faction embodies this spirit of stalwart self sacrifice like the Hakim Special Medical Assistance Team - as per the unit's creed, these dedicated men and women will let nothing stand between them and their life saving mission!   Comprehensively Trained In the backstory Hakims are trained as an expert commando force in order to enable them to execute the most dangerous search and rescue missions. On the tabletop this training translates to a statline of a professional Medium Infantry operative. BS 12, PH 11, AR...
