Immortal Valour - Zhayedans in RTF

IMMORTAL VALOUR - Zhayedans in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   One of the explanations to the name of the Zhayedans is that in ancient Persia the 10 000 strong hand picked elite fighting force (and the King's Guard) was known as the Immortals - not because they could not be killed, but because their number was fixed. This is actually quite a good analogy for the Zhayedan Intervention Troops ; they are the crème de la crème of the (non-supersoldier) non-Heavy Infantry of Ramah Taskforce; a reliable corps of veterans ready to face anyone, anywhere, anytime. Veterans of Dozens of Campaigns The Zhayedans are battle hardened veterans, though not supersoldiers, and this is reflected in their elite Medium Infantry statlines. They have the standard 4-4 MOV, while their more favored status is shown with ARM 2 and BTS 3 - even though not great, thes...

Tinkers, Tailors, Soldiers, Spies - Leila Sharif and Yara Haddad in RTF

TINKERS, TAILORS, SOLDIERS, SPIES - Leila Sharif & Yara Haddad in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.  (Disclaimer! As of writing of this article, there is no model released for Yara Haddad. Therefore in the pictures of this article her place is taken by Tuareg Sniper with a modified weapon, as to me she is the closest thing available to the consept art provided by Corvus Belli.) As is the case with most of the sectorials, Ramah Taskforce has access to a rich and varied selection of Fireteam options. While RTF can build very diverse squads of " counts as Ghulams " ( Ghulams , Naffatûns , Zhayedans ), it's other "pure Fireteam" options aren't as strong. You could look at this as a disadvantage, or you could see it as a chance to cast aside the shackles of homogenic Fireteam restrictions and spice things up with some dead...

A Shield Held High - Hakims in RTF

A SHIELD HELD HIGH - Hakims in RTF   In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   Out of all the branches of the Haqqislamite armed forces, Ramah Taskforce is the one with the most humanistic calling - they are after all the ones who are tasked with diving into the most terrible of situations to rescue those in need of saving. No unit in the Faction embodies this spirit of stalwart self sacrifice like the Hakim Special Medical Assistance Team - as per the unit's creed, these dedicated men and women will let nothing stand between them and their life saving mission!   Comprehensively Trained In the backstory Hakims are trained as an expert commando force in order to enable them to execute the most dangerous search and rescue missions. On the tabletop this training translates to a statline of a professional Medium Infantry operative. BS 12, PH 11, AR...
