THE GOOD GUYS WEAR ORANGE - A Compilation of Articles

This page is meant to compile all the blog's articles written (or planned!) so far, and thus help readers find what they're looking for!

The Unit Focus Series

In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.

Light Infantry

Medium Infantry

Heavy Infatry

In Search of Wisdom

In this series I reflect on the game of Infinity, as well the place of Ramah Taskforce in it.

Why Did I Choose to Play RTF?

Officer Training School

In this series I'll be focusing on subjects that are specially geared towards new players starting with Ramah Taskforce.

Operations Room

The Operations Room series sees me focus on ITS Scenarios from the viewpoint of Ramah Taskforce. Once I'm done discussing the mission, I'll build a list for it, and tell you how the list faired in an actual game.

After Action Reports

In this series I join forces with my opponents in order to try and present play-by-play Battle Reports from both players' perspectives.

Coordinated Command

In this article series I turn to other members of the vibrant Infinity community to offer my blog as platform for them to showcase their thoughts - whether those thoughts be about Ramah Taskforce or something entirely else!

  1. I just wanted to drop a comment : Thanks for all those articles. I decided to go haqqislam after buying Red Veil (even if it was for YJ at base) as I loved the models, but I wasn't fond of the "irregulars" theme of the army. Those articles about RTF made this sectorial very appeling to me, so thanks for all those analysis you made ! I'm a theorycraft lover, and those articles are really helpful/great to read ! Do you think you can make some example generics lists ? So I can learn how I should buy a list (currently i'm just playing with red veil so I did not really looked at list building)

    1. Hey there! I'm so glad you're finding the content to be helpful and enjoyable! I too was "turned off" by the irregular warfare theme of vanilla Haqqislam, but luckily RTF is just the type of elite force I was looking for!

I'm planning on writing some pieces on my personal list constuction philosophy in the future, but these days I rarely if ever build lists without a spesific mission/opponent/event in mind, so hard and fast rules are somewhat hard to give... If you'd like, I could taylor a list idea or two for your spesific needs? If that sounds okay to you, just shoot me an email (or use the form found in the sidebar of the blog!) and give some pointers on what you're looking for in Ramah Taskforce and I'll get cooking! Just bear in mind that I'm merely a flawed commander myself, one among many...

    2. Hi, thta's really kind of you, but I don't want to give you more work. I believe that list building articles with a lsit you built (even tailored for a special opponent/mission) and explanations about why you brought that would be awesome. I'm really new to this game so every informations about how/why you build a list is good to get !

  2. Your blog is really interesting to read, and your enthusiasm is so contagious to made me come back to the game after a few years hiatus (I got a little "burnout" after playing since the first boxes appeared). I'm reading again your articles and making a point to leave a comment whenever I can. I can't guarantee I will comment all of them, but know that you have an avid reader of your works here!

PS: I can't wait to read the updated articles again!

I'm prioritizing updating the articles in the near future, let's hope it'll be worth your wait!

THE COURT OF THE SCORPION QUEEN - Maghariba Guards & Shakushs in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   (Disclaimer! As of writing of this article, there is no Corvus Belli released model for the Shakush Light Armored Unit, and thus I've painted a Gecko Squadron model to serve as a replacement, as I feel it incampsulates the essence of this Light TAG quite well.) While it is highly unorthodox to field a TAG - especially the largest TAG in the game - in a rapid reaction force that's mostly made up of light units, there are times when even Ramah Taskforce players get to go big (rather than go home)! While you propably came here for the supersoldiers and other elite operatives , sometimes the situation (or one's mood) requires busting out the biggest guns and the heaviest armor; so let's talk about the two Tactical Armored Gear units

IN SERVICE OF OTHERS - Warcors and Rahman Rouhani in RTF In the Unit Focus series I take a look at the different units that make up the Ramah Taskforce, and try to answer why, not if, you should include them in your lists.   (Disclaimer! I unfortunately don't own the Defiance set from Corvus Belli, so I lack the actual model for Rahman Rouhani. I use my SMG Hakim as a proxy, because he to me seems the closest fit considering Rouhani's weapons, stats and abilities.)   Ramah Taskforce is the very tip of the spear when it comes to the armed forces of Haqqislam. They have the best equipment, all the logistic support they can hope for, and most importantly, the most elite soldiers of the nation at their disposal. When it comes to building an ITS list with RTF however, there are times when units chosen are defined not by what they are, but rather what they're not. Let's look at two support elements of the sectorial; Warcors, the War Correspondents and the Medical Speciali
